Dr James Dyer is senior lecturer of Graphic Design at the University of Huddersfield, UK. He writes, often cynically, about visual culture. For VALS he is presenting the origins of his collaborative book publication Graphic Events: A Realist Account of Graphic Design, which he co-authored and edited with Nick Deakin.
